Video Summary

The summit introduced Dr. Cadman Lange and Dr. Numa Akhede as moderators, highlighting their expertise in gastroenterology, AI, and digital health. Dr. Pranav Rajpurkar from Harvard Medical School then presented on the future of AI in medicine, emphasizing a shift from narrow, task-specific AI models to generalist AI capable of handling multiple medical imaging tasks across specialties. He shared developments from his lab, including MedVersa, a unified AI model outperforming specialized models across various imaging tasks, and introduced real-time, multimodal AI applications combining radiology, pathology, and endoscopy data. Dr. Rajpurkar also discussed AI's evolving role in drafting clinical reports, enhancing patient communication through visual and avatar-assisted reports, and addressing challenges in clinical AI evaluation. A key focus was on innovative colonoscopy AI that generates 3D coverage maps, aiding procedural accuracy. The talk underscored ongoing collaborations linking radiology, gastroenterology, and medical robotics, inviting global clinician involvement in AI research. The presentation highlighted AI’s transformative potential in clinical workflows and patient care.
