The Association for Bariatric Endoscopy (ABE) will hold its 11th Annual Course, “2026 EBMT Innovations: Shaping the Future of Metabolic Health,” on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 1:00–5:00 pm CST at the Sheraton Grand Chicago Riverwalk (Chicago 7 Ballroom) during Digestive Disease Week 2026 in Chicago, Illinois.<br /><br />This half-day workshop, led by an international faculty, focuses on the latest advances in Endoscopic Bariatric and Metabolic Therapies (EBMTs) and practical approaches for integrating these therapies into clinical practice. The program emphasizes interactive learning, global perspectives, and real-world scenarios to help clinicians stay current with EBMT innovation.<br /><br />Course directors are Eduardo Hourneaux de Moura, Rakesh Kalapala, Vivek Kumbhari, Violeta Popov, and Andrew C. Storm. The agenda is organized into four sessions: (1) EBMTs and metabolic disorder management, covering mechanisms of action, duodenal magnets and liners, and duodenal ablation therapies; (2) the future of endoscopic gastric remodeling, including suturing devices/platforms for obesity, endoscopic treatment of MASLD, and combination therapies; (3) EBMTs in practice with case-based discussions on weight regain after ESG, delayed complications, and management of GERD in EBMT patients; and (4) a year-in-review highlighting emerging devices, injections, trial insights, notable publications, and novel approaches to obesity and GI disorders. Each session includes Q&A and panel discussion, with a scheduled break from 2:55–3:15 pm.<br /><br />A complimentary ABE Membership Reception will follow from 5:00–6:30 pm at the same venue, offering networking with the ABE Advisory Board, course faculty, and bariatric endoscopy professionals.
