The ASGE Annual GI Advanced Practice Provider Course is a two-day virtual course designed to provide education for Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in gastroenterology. The course aims to serve as a critical resource for practices looking to provide quality GI education for APPs and enhance APP/physician collaboration.<br /><br />The learning objectives of the course include understanding critical scope of practice points in GI consultation, identifying billing codes for GI consultation, discussing best practices in procedure preparation, exploring the role of the GI APP in both inpatient and outpatient settings, learning about tools and resources for developing an onboarding program for GI APPs, reviewing best practices for endoscopic procedures, understanding patient management for liver disease, IBD, acute pancreatitis, and GI bleeding, and recognizing and managing GI emergencies.<br /><br />The target audience for the course includes APPs new to GI or seeking a refresher course, APP supervisors, physician leaders, and administrators responsible for onboarding APPs and facilitating effective APP/physician collaboration.<br /><br />Physicians can earn up to 15.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ for participating in the course, while non-physician participants will receive a Certificate of Participation accredited for the same number of credits. To claim credit, participants must complete an online evaluation survey and access the course materials through ASGE's Learning Management System.<br /><br />The course adheres to ASGE's commitment to high-level scientific evidence and neutrality. All subject matter experts involved in the course have disclosed their financial relationships with commercial interests and any potential conflicts of interest have been resolved. Patient privacy is protected in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.<br /><br />The ASGE Annual GI Advanced Practice Provider Course is designed to meet ASGE's Level 2 on an outcome-based education scale.
