The ASGE Annual GI Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Course is a two-day virtual program held March 20–21, 2026, designed to expand APPs’ clinical knowledge and practical skills in gastroenterology, endoscopy, and hepatology while strengthening collaboration within GI practices. The course targets APPs new to GI or seeking a refresher, as well as APP supervisors, physician leaders, and administrators involved in onboarding and team-based practice development.<br /><br />Through expert-led lectures, case-based discussions, radiology and pathology interpretation sessions, and interactive panels, participants will build competence in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy (including EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, and EUS), consult workflows, informed consent, sedation, and peri-procedural management. Day two emphasizes case-based management of complex liver disease and pancreatitis, along with diagnosis and treatment of common GI disorders such as IBD, diarrhea, constipation, GERD, dysphagia, and GI bleeding. A featured new session, “Hit Me With Your Best Shot,” invites attendees to submit challenging cases for live expert-panel problem solving.<br /><br />ASGE is accredited by the ACCME and designates the activity for up to 15 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits for physicians; other healthcare professionals (including APPs, nurses, coders, and administrators) receive a Certificate of Participation documenting 15 hours. ASGE outlines conflict-of-interest mitigation, commitment to scientific rigor and neutrality, and HIPAA-focused de-identification expectations. Participants claim credit by completing an online evaluation via ASGE’s GI LEAP learning management system, where course materials and presentation slides are also available. The program is aligned with ASGE Outcome-Based Education Level 3a (declarative knowledge) and emphasizes evidence-based, patient-centered care and practice-based improvement.
