The ASGE Annual GI Advanced Practice Provider Course is a virtual course that will take place from March 31 to April 1, 2023. The course will be led by course directors John A. The agenda for day 1 of the course includes topics such as creating a high-quality GI consultation, optimizing the role of the APP, opportunities for scholarship and research, the APP/MD collaborative relationship, work-life satisfaction strategies, building APP leaders, informed consent and sedation, management of anti-thrombotic agents, upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP and EUS, therapeutic endoscopy, billing and coding, medicolegal aspects of endoscopic practice, and contracts and negotiations. Day 2 of the course will focus on gastroenterology and hepatology clinical practice, with case-based discussions on topics like evaluation of abnormal liver function tests, liver disease complications, abnormal imaging in GI, celiac disease and other diseases of the small bowel, GERD and Barrett's esophagus, acute pancreatitis, evaluation and management of IBD, and evaluation of acute and chronic diarrhea. The day will conclude with a roundtable discussion and closing remarks. The agenda is subject to change.
