ENDOSCOPIC ULTRAOSUND GUIDED VARICEAL THERAPY- TIPS, TRICKS AND PITFALLS 4481489

Video Transcription

Video Summary

The review explains endoscopic ultrasound-guided variceal therapy for cardiofundal varices, emphasizing practical tips and pitfalls. Key points include optimal room setup, proper equipment preparation, correct matching of needle and coil size to variceal diameter, and careful preparation of gelatin sponge or cyanoacrylate glue. Water instillation improves visualization and helps distinguish intramural varices from collateral vessels. Main risks include coil migration and needle-coil mismatch; these can be reduced by oversizing coils and using a technique that anchors the first coil across a septum. Coil erosion is usually benign and can be removed endoscopically if necessary.
