On Saturday, the conference will start with lunch and registration, followed by sessions on the fundamentals and evolution of POEM, the steps to success in POEM procedures, and panel discussions. Participants will then split into two groups. One group will engage in simulation and skills-based training in the IT&T bio-skills lab, focusing on mucosal incisions and submucosal tunneling, while the other group will attend sessions on case studies, video cases, and technique variations. Both groups will also learn about post-POEM management, identifying and managing complications of POEM, and setting up POEM referral practices.<br /><br />On Sunday, the conference will include a keynote lecture on the lessons learned from 15 years of POEM and its future. Participants will continue with simulation and skills-based training on the full POEM procedure, including mucosal incisions, submucosal tunneling, selective myotomy, gastric cardia myotomy, and closure of mucosal incisions. Case studies, video cases, and real-world case studies will also be discussed. The day will conclude with a session on recurrence of achalasia post-Heller procedures.<br /><br />The conference will provide opportunities for networking and a reception with faculty and participants. Continuous shuttle service will be available between the Marriott Hotel and the conference venue.
