Hello, everyone, and welcome. My name is Aziz Adam. I'm one of the course directors, along with Amrita Sethi, who's from New York. And I'd like to welcome you all to the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy course, Per Oral Endoscopic Myotomy, Poem, Pearls to Practice. On behalf of myself and our course director, Amrita Sethi, we'd really like to welcome you and thank you for joining us today. We especially want to thank our esteemed faculty who have traveled all over the country to join us and share their expertise and help put together the content for the course today. So just a little profile on each of our faculty members. So like I mentioned, I'm from Northwestern University. Some of my preferences for poem, I'm an anterior poem. My preferred knife is typically the hybrid knife for incision and tunneling. I use the triangle tip for myotomy. I use clips and my preferred generator settings, I use EndoCut. You'll see there's a lot of variability. So we just want to share this because everyone has their own secret sauce for this. And then you can find out kind of what works best for you. I like to use forced coagulation with a needle shaft for vessels in my favorite movies, Gladiator. For Dr. Sethi, she's from Columbia University. She's a posterior approach. She likes to use the hybrid knife T-type, which you saw some demonstrations for in Dr. Maselli's presentation. She uses throughout the same knife throughout the poem. She also uses clips and she's also an EndoCutter. She likes swift coag and precise sack, which is actually a pretty neat modality, especially as you're approaching bleeding towards the GE junction. She has too many favorite movies, but she does like the Avengers. Dennis Yang comes to us from Advent Health in Orlando. He's an anterior polymer and he likes the I-type hybrid knife. You'll get plenty of exposure to these different types of knives. He likes to use clips. He's also likes to use EndoCut and a low coagulation mode for small vessels. And his favorite movie is Bloodsport. John Pandolfino, also from Northwestern, his favorite movie is Raging Bull. He's a boxer, so that's very fitting. You'll get to meet him later today. Fanny Conda comes to us from Baylor University. She prefers the posterior approach. She likes the I-type hybrid knife. She closes with clips and she likes to use EndoCut and forced coagulation. And her favorite movie is Princess Bride. Excellent movie. Joe Triggs comes to us from University of Pennsylvania. He prefers the anterior approach. It's almost 50-50 on the anterior-posterior. This is good. He likes the hybrid knife, the T-type or also known as the triangle tip for incision tunneling in myotomy. Clips, EndoCut, and forced coag, occasionally uses spray coag as well. Peter Dragunov, this picture always is very serious. Peter's very serious. And he likes the anterior approach. His preferred knives are the hybrid and the triangle tip. He closes with clips and he has lots of favorite movies. So I'll have to pin him down on his top three later on. Norio Fukami from Mayo Clinic, Arizona. He prefers an anterior myotomy, selective circumferential sling muscle preserving, double scope technique, which is a pretty interesting technique to identify where you are exactly as you get towards the stomach. He likes the hybrid knife. He likes a reloadable type of clip and his preferred generator settings are very precise here. EndoCut, precise sect, dry cut, and EndoCut for fibrosis. His favorite movie is Mad Max. Mingming Zhu is from Kaiser Permanente. She prefers the posterior approach, hybrid knife, closes with clips, and EndoCut and forced coag. Favorite movie is Jurassic Park. Nikhil Kumta comes from Mount Sinai, New York. Posterior approach, hybrid T-type knife. He likes to suture with the overstitch for his closure. He prefers the EndoCut and forced coagulation. His favorite movie is The Usual Suspects. Uzma Siddiqui from the University of Chicago. She prefers the posterior approach. She likes the hybrid I-knife, closes with clips. She prefers a precise sect and spray coag and myotomy for the EndoCut. Favorite movie, Karate Kid. It's a classic, especially for endoscopy. Yuto Shimomura from Showa University in Japan, who you'll be hearing from tomorrow. He prefers an anterior approach, a jet triangle tip for incision tunneling and also for myotomy. Closes with clips and he prefers EndoCut and spray coag. Favorite movie, Forrest Gump. Another great movie. So that's, and of course, we can't forget Haruhi Inoue from Showa University in Japan. He'll be giving a state-of-the-art lecture tomorrow morning and will be joining us live and he'll share a lot of his preferences then.
