Video Summary
In this video, Rabia Latorre, Director of Endoscopy at Bellevue at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, presents a case of a 50-year-old female with a malignant esophageal stricture. The patient had received chemotherapy which shrunk the tumor, but the previously placed stent migrated into the stomach. Attempts to remove the stent were unsuccessful due to its brittleness. Eventually, a new stent was placed to create a conduit for the removal of the old stent. It was observed that stent migration is a known risk of palliative esophageal stent placement for malignant strictures. Ways to secure stents and methods for stent removal were also discussed. No credits were mentioned in the video.
