Welcome to the advanced ARIA course this morning. Thank you guys for joining us remotely from across the country. We're excited to have this course today. I know this course was meant to be initially in person, but due to unforeseen circumstances, we're here in this virtual world, but we'd like to make the most of it today. So hopefully you can join us all day, be listening in. Hopefully you have a day off from work, so you don't have to be in and out of work-related activities. But certainly, we know it's a work day. You need to take some calls here and there. Obviously, do what you got to do. We have a great list of talks today, including speakers from the leaders of GI in our field. And these are topics that I'm excited to hear about myself. These are not your typical DDW talks where you hear talks about colon polyps or how to remove them or the management of IBD. These are higher-level courses, higher-level talks on kind of the future of GI, where are things headed in our field. And so I'm excited about these talks today. Hopefully you guys are as well. And thank you for joining us again. I just want to go back to the introduction in terms of the ARIA program. ARIA stands for the ASGE Recognized Industry Associate Program. It started about seven, eight years ago, and initially was just an introductory program for industry representatives to learn about GI. Our basic course covers basic anatomy of the GI tract, some diseases that affect the GI tract, and the course itself included a hands-on session for industry representatives to go and check out what it's like to be a GI doctor, hold a scope, and do some mini procedures. This has now moved on to this advanced ARIA course, which we started a few years ago. And this advanced ARIA course is, again, this next level of education, an opportunity for us to talk to industry reps about new and exciting topics that are affecting our field. So no longer just about basic anatomy and diseases, but different focus, so to speak, with regards to our relationships with our industry representatives. I'm going to move on with the slides here. All right, so welcome again. I'm Stephen Kim from UCLA, and I'll be the course director for today's program. Here are our course faculty for today's course. We have Dr. Muhammad Balil from the Minneapolis VA Medical Center and the University of Minnesota, Dr. Inayanta Coelho Prabhu from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Dr. Thomas Dees from Fort Worth, Texas, Dr. Victoria Gomez from the Mayo Clinic Jacksonville in Jacksonville, Florida, and Dr. Rajesh Keswani from Northwestern University in Chicago. And last but not least are Dr. Klaus Merzner at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington, and Dr. Keith Opstein from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. So here are some of the companies that are being represented today in this advanced ARIA program. Ambu, Exact Sciences, McTronic, Olympus, Salix, and Steris Endoscopy. So we have a wide assortment, not just endoscopy companies, but device companies, pharma. And so we welcome all of you guys to today's course. This is a quick breakdown of the agenda for today. So we'll start with lectures with question and answers after each session. There'll be a short break, some more lectures. We'll break for lunch, of course. After lunch, we have some small group breakouts. We'll be very interactive and have you guys into smaller groups where you can talk to the speakers themselves as they give short talks on a variety of topics. We'll do a break again, and then we'll end with the day in the life panel, which has typically been a very popular subject, very popular panel for industry representatives as well, to talk to the physicians about things that may be burning, questions to have from the course itself. We'll end with one final lecture and a final Q&A. So ideally, of course, we'd love to do this talk in person. We ask for participation throughout, but please feel free to ask questions during the talks, after the talks. So during the talks, if you have any questions, please throw them into this Q&A box that you'll see at the bottom of your screen. I will be looking through that during the talks, and I may even interrupt the speakers to ask questions to them, just like you would if you were in person. We also have a dedicated Q&A session after each talk. So if there are lots of questions, if I find that there are lots of questions on one particular topic, I may save that for the very end and ask the speaker to comment or answer any questions we have in that dedicated 10-minute Q&A session after each talk as well. But please feel free to participate. Some of these talks are actually more to lend themselves to being an open interaction dialogue with the audience, and I know that can be kind of difficult with this virtual setting. So hopefully you guys will have access to a computer or can get easily onto your phone and ask questions as they come up throughout the talks. All right, all the presentations are available on GILeap. GILeap is a website as well as an app that can be downloaded to your phone. And so if after this course you want to have access to these talks for future reference, feel free to get onto the GILeap account or email MichelleThomas at mthomas.asg.org for access. There will be an online evaluation. Again, this is all through GILeap. So after the course, if you get this evaluation, let us know how we can improve or what you liked or didn't like about the course. That would be very helpful for us as we plan for the future. All right, let's get started.
