Pdf Summary
The ASGE 'CRC Screening' project aims to develop a financially sustainable model that ensures uninsured and underinsured patients with positive stool-based CRC screening tests receive timely follow-up colonoscopies. The project also aims to educate policymakers on the need for follow-up colonoscopies and collaborate with them to develop legislation for sustainable funding. Additionally, the project will fund CRC screening programs in Georgia and Maryland, develop a roadmap to help patients navigate the screening process, reduce the wait time for colonoscopies, understand barriers in the screening continuum, and use metrics to demonstrate the development of sustainable programs. ASGE will collaborate with primary healthcare facilities and key stakeholders such as healthcare systems, physicians, patient navigators, legislators, advocacy organizations, community leaders, patients, and patient groups. The project is funded by an unrestricted grant from Exact Sciences. ASGE, with nearly 16,000 members, including gastroenterologists and allied healthcare professionals, aims to advance patient care and digestive health by promoting excellence and innovation in gastrointestinal endoscopy.
