Video Transcription
It is our pleasure to welcome you to the first year fellows course, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the Institute for Training and Technology. We teach them all the fundamentals of endoscopy, from how to hold the endoscope and everything they need to know to get started on the right foot. It really sets their tone for their entire career. I remember using argon plasma for the first time in a nice safe environment, not in a patient but in a pig stomach. It was really fun. These first year fellows that you're interacting with from all different parts of the country are going through the exact same things that you're going through no matter where you are. They're the people that understand kind of what you're going through right now more than anyone else at this time, so I think kind of building that support system and meeting and networking is such a huge part of the first year fellows course that it's irreplaceable and can't be replicated anywhere else.
