The First Year Fellows Endoscopy Course is a two-day comprehensive review of endoscopic technique and clinical management for first-year fellows in training. The course covers upper and lower endoscopy, case-based endoscopic intervention, foreign body management, diagnostic upper endoscopy, advanced techniques, and more. Participants will engage in a unique hands-on training session using ex-vivo animal models at the ASGE Institute for Training & Technology. The course begins with didactic sessions and includes both hands-on sessions and didactic sessions. Attendees are required to wear business casual attire. <br /> <br />The learning objectives of the course include mastering the fundamentals of diagnostic upper and lower endoscopy, understanding anesthesia management for patient sedation, recognizing infection control guidelines, learning techniques for managing foreign bodies and bowel obstructions, diagnosing and managing acute upper and lower GI bleeding, handling endoscopes and devices, and understanding the principles of feeding tube placement. <br /> <br />The course is approved for continuing medical education credits for physicians. ASGE designates this live activity for a maximum of 11 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Participants must complete an online evaluation survey through the ASGE Learning Management System to claim credit and access the course presentations. <br /> <br />The course is planned and organized by the ASGE Training Committee, composed of expert physicians in the field. Faculty members include experienced professionals from various medical institutions who will deliver lectures and hands-on training sessions. <br /> <br />The ASGE is committed to providing high-quality educational activities based on scientific rigor and evidence-based practice.
