The course consists of didactic lectures and interactive sessions.<br /><br />The learning objectives of the course include understanding measures of quality in endoscopy, recognizing techniques for improving efficiency and safety in endoscopy units, identifying methods for improving patient satisfaction and doctor-patient communication, understanding potential sources of infection and transmission during endoscopic procedures, and implementing quality assurance measures within endoscopy units.<br /><br />The course is targeted towards practicing GI endoscopists and surgeons, medical directors, nurse managers, unit managers, and allied professionals interested in advancing their knowledge in endoscopy unit quality and safety. Units applying for the ASGE Endoscopy Unit Recognition Program are encouraged to send both a physician and a non-physician manager to the course.<br /><br />The course offers a maximum of 6 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM for physicians. Non-physician participants will receive a Certificate of Participation specifying the hours of education accredited for AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.<br /><br />To claim credit for the course, participants must complete an online evaluation survey through ASGE's Learning Management System.
