Pdf Summary
This ASGE masterclass addresses the rising incidence of colorectal cancer (CRC) among younger adults and the increase in advanced-stage diagnoses, emphasizing the need to adapt CRC screening approaches. The educational activity aims to enhance participant knowledge through expert-led discussions covering current CRC trends, available screening modalities—including colonoscopy, stool-based tests, and biomarker testing—patient preferences influencing screening decisions, and emerging screening technologies that may improve early detection and outcomes.

Upon completion, participants should understand updated epidemiology, evaluate the impact of different screening methods on patient outcomes, integrate patient demographic factors and preferences into clinical practice, and stay informed about technological advances in CRC screening.

Accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, the course offers up to 6 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits for physicians. Participants must complete an online evaluation via ASGE’s GI LEAP platform to claim credit and access course materials.

ASGE ensures scientific rigor and content neutrality by requiring planner and faculty disclosures of relevant financial relationships, which are reviewed and mitigated per ACCME guidelines. The course aligns with outcome-based education principles, targeting improvements in medical knowledge, patient-centered care, evidence-based practice, and practice-based learning.

The planning committee and faculty comprise experts from diverse institutions, some of whom have disclosed consulting roles with medical and biotech companies; all financial relationships have been appropriately managed.

Supported in part by educational grants from Olympus Corporation of the Americas, the program’s content is grounded in established clinical standards and aims to translate knowledge into improved patient care in the field of gastrointestinal endoscopy and colorectal cancer screening.
