Pdf Summary
The ASGE CRC Screening Project Playbook, developed collaboratively with key stakeholders—including input from current reviews—is designed as an accessible, clear, and user-friendly resource aimed at expanding colorectal cancer (CRC) screening and ensuring timely follow-up colonoscopies for underserved communities in the United States. It serves multiple purposes: showcasing the impact of ASGE’s CRC Screening Project, identifying effective strategies to increase CRC screening and follow-up rates in vulnerable populations, and acting as a centralized hub for relevant resources.

The playbook is structured into several sections, including foundational information about CRC and screening, details on ASGE’s CRC Screening Project, step-by-step guidance for implementing CRC screening and advocacy programs, patient navigation strategies, other CRC screening models, outreach and education resources, and information about ASGE and its industry allies. These sections may be combined for streamlined use and are organized into three broad categories—Foundations, Implementation, and Support & Outreach—to facilitate ease of access and practical application.

Produced in partnership with Exact Sciences and supported by a joint marketing plan to maximize reach, the playbook is targeted for launch in the first half of 2026, following the completion of patient screening and data analysis phases. Current and next steps in the project include gathering feedback during stakeholder summits, completing graphic design and web development by late 2025, ongoing content development, and final playbook release in early 2026.

Ultimately, the ASGE CRC Screening Project Playbook aims to empower health systems, federally qualified health centers (FQHCs), advocates, and policymakers to advance equitable CRC screening and care delivery to improve outcomes in underserved populations.
