The two-day program is focused on inpatient GI care, bleeding management, endoscopy techniques, and practical hospital-based GI service topics.<br /><br />Saturday begins with registration, breakfast, and opening remarks, followed by sessions on non-variceal hemostasis, variceal hemostasis, lower GI bleeding, small bowel bleeding, inpatient GI service “DIY” strategies, and pancreaticobiliary dilemmas. The afternoon includes a three-hour hands-on bio-skills lab covering hemostasis, foreign body retrieval, and PEG/PEGJ tube stations, along with a virtual hands-on video demonstration for online attendees. The day ends with a session on locum tenens and fair market value in inpatient GI consultation, plus a reception and exhibits.<br /><br />Sunday starts with registration and breakfast, then continues with talks on enteral access and complications, Ogilvie’s syndrome and volvulus, difficult food bolus and foreign bodies, acute severe IBD, cirrhosis and related complications, building an efficient GI hospitalist service, and the art of the GI consult, including communication and reputation. The course concludes with closing remarks, take-home points, course evaluation, and CME credit information.<br /><br />Throughout both days, sessions include faculty Q&A panels and exhibit time.
