Video Tip: Endoscopic Techniques for Diverticular Colon Polyp Resection

Video Transcription

Video Summary

The video discusses endoscopic techniques for removing colorectal polyps within diverticula, which pose a unique challenge due to the thin and fragile nature of diverticular walls. Various methods like polyp eversion, band ligation, and ESD are used for safe removal of these polyps. The Full-Thickness Resection Device (FTRD) is effective for polyps entirely within diverticula, reducing the risk of leakage post-resection. A case study of a woman with a polyp in her sigmoid colon showcased the successful use of the FTRD, ensuring complete resection with no complications. Advanced endoscopic methods now offer a non-surgical option for managing polyps in diverticula, with FTRD providing a targeted approach for safe and thorough removal.
