Description

Advanced practice providers (APPs) are an integral part of any gastroenterology practice’s clinical team. This virtual two-day course was designed for those APPs and the physicians and practice staff who work with and/or supervise them. Given a mix of lectures and interactive panel discussions, this is an excellent introductory or refresher course. This course will highlight ways to build and sustain more collaborative working relationships, and it will detail the steps a GI practice should take to integrate APPs into its clinical team.

Day one will address the APP’s normal day-to-day roles and responsibilities – as well as touching on some practice management and professional development topics. Day two will delve into more advanced concepts like pancreatic disease, dysphagia, GI bleeding, IBD, and GI emergencies.

Depending on interests and needs, register for one or both days!

  • List recommendations for developing optimal GI consultation skills, including proper medical record documentation.
  • Identify common GI billing codes (supported by the appropriate documentation).

Optimal Viewing Experience in GI Leap
Although all browsers continually roll out new versions and updates, we currently recommend using Chrome for the best functionality when accessing GI Leap. Please note that Internet Explorer is not a supported browser. Follow these tips for better streaming and viewing of ASGE videos:

  1. Close other applications and browser tabs. This decreases the load on memory so your computer or other device can focus on streaming.
  2. Use a 5 GHz frequency if your router supports it. The common 2.4 GHz frequency is used by household appliances, so is more crowded. Avoiding it is like getting into the carpool lane on a freeway: smoother sailing.
  3. Use Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi if possible but GI LEAP is built with Wi-Fi in mind.
  4. Monitor your internet connection. If your ISP has promised you 5MBps and you are getting only 1MBps, it's time for a phone call to your internet provider to sort that out.
