This ASGE activity consists of the video, Endoscopic Interpretation and Therapy of Severe Lower GI Bleeding (DV032), followed by a post-assessment and evaluation.
Lower gastrointestinal bleeding is common, accounting for approximately 30% of all major gastrointestinal bleeding. The approach to lower gastrointestinal bleeding is controversial. Recent studies have shown that urgent colonoscopy can be safe and therapeutic. The purpose of this educational program is to describe the art and science of the endoscopic management of patients with acute severe lower gastrointestinal bleeding.
