Description
What is artificial intelligence (AI) and how will it impact gastroenterology and endoscopy? The first artificial intelligence devices in endoscopy are beginning to become commercially available. However, artificial intelligence is not necessarily new but has evolved since the 1950’s. How will it impact endoscopy practices and how should clinicians interpret the current literature? Dr. John Vargo will share what the literature has indicated as of current date and the trends forward that Fellows and other clinicians should consider.
Learning Objectives
  1. Identify the timeline of how artificial intelligence has evolved and its impact upon gastroenterology and endoscopy.
  2. Determine the efficiency of how artificial intelligence is being used in positive identification of diminutive polyps as compared to false positives.
  3. List how artificial intelligence tools could be applied into other areas of gastroenterology and endoscopy clinical practices in the near future.
