Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) characterized by heartburn and/or regurgitation symptoms is one of the most common gastrointestinal disorders managed by gastroenterologists and primary care physicians. The prevalence of GERD continues to increase in populations throughout North America, Europe, East Asia, the Middle East, Australia, and South America. This ASGE webinar will review how to define gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD) and refractory GERD, including what tests are appropriate to evaluate symptoms not responsive to initial therapy. Faculty will review options for both medical and anatomic interventions that could be considered when refractory disease is confirmed.
