The Bariatric Patient: Endoscopic Diagnosis and Management (DV050)
Released:  May 2012
Viewing Time:  2 hours 8 minutes
Description

This CME activity consists of the ASGE video, Endoscopy in the Bariatric Patient, followed by a post-assessment and evaluation.

Patients who have undergone bariatric surgery are often referred to an endoscopist for management of diverse problems. Endoscopy aids in the diagnosis of complications. Examinations of gastric remnant and duodenum, as well as ERCP are technically demanding and require specialized tools for successful outcomes. Endoscopic therapeutic interventions play an important role in the multi-disciplinary management of these patients.

This educational program will discuss the role of endoscopy in the management of specific problems encountered in the post-bariatric patient. The clinical presentation, technical aspect of endoscopic interventions and expected outcomes will be discussed.
