For advanced GI fellows, this course will supplement your training with origins of EUS, discussing and demonstrating the fine points of the procedure, and firsthand practice. Whether you’re just beginning your therapeutic EUS practice or you’re a seasoned clinician looking for a refresher, this course is perfect for you. Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Describe the technical aspects and role of therapeutic EUS procedures, specifically EUS guided tissue acquisition and portal pressure measurement
  • Identify potential common adverse events associated with therapeutic EUS
  • Summarize the best practices that are used to manage common adverse events associated with therapeutic EUS
  • Explain the utility and role of EUS for accessing and draining the bile and pancreatic ducts

Optimal Viewing Experience in GI Leap
Although all browsers continually roll out new versions and updates, we currently recommend using Chrome for the best functionality when accessing GI Leap. Please note that Internet Explorer is not a supported browser. Follow these tips for better streaming and viewing of ASGE videos:

  1. Close other applications and browser tabs. This decreases the load on memory so your computer or other device can focus on streaming.
  2. Use a 5 GHz frequency if your router supports it. The common 2.4 GHz frequency is used by household appliances, so is more crowded. Avoiding it is like getting into the carpool lane on a freeway: smoother sailing.
  3. Use Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi if possible but GI LEAP is built with Wi-Fi in mind. 
  4. Monitor your internet connection. If your ISP has promised you 5MBps and you are getting only 1MBps, it's time for a phone call to your internet provider to sort that out.
