In this introductory Early Career Practice Management Essentials module series, the essential components of reimbursement are highlighted. The complete reimbursement process is covered, including tips on how to file claims, how payment is determined, the importance of proper coding and complete documentation.
The target audience for this series:
  • 3rd and 4th year Fellows or
  • Early career Physicians (5 years or less) out of Fellowship
Learning Objectives
Participants in this learning activity should be able to:
  • Explain the essentials of coding, coverage and payment
  • Examine the reimbursement process from the initial service to claim payments
  • Identify the relative RVUs and physician payment calculation
  • Understand the importance of complete documentation and its' role in practice audits and the reimbursement process
