Description

This CME activity consists of the ASGE video Evaluation of the Anorectum: Physical and Endoscopic Examinations followed by a post-assessment and evaluation.

Hemorrhoids, fissures and other anorectal disorders are common and often present to the gastroenterologist for evaluation and treatment. Colonoscopy has several limitations in these patients. Proper anorectal physical examination along with anoscopy is essential in the evaluation of these problems.

In this video, the physical examination and anoscopy are described and demonstrated. In addition, several “tips and tricks” designed to maximize the benefit of flexible endoscopy, as well as the treatment of some of these clinical issues are also discussed.
