The Role of Endoscopic Ultrasound in Evaluation of Lung Cancer (DV075)

Description

Course Description:
Tissue diagnosis of lung cancer is obtained by thoracocentesis, bronchoscopy and CT-guided biopsy. Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) are considered as standard tests for evaluation of lung cancer. This video presents the techniques of EUS and EBUS along with applied anatomy of mediastinum. The identification of International Association of Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) borders is discussed. The techniques of N staging as described by IASLC for 1 to 14 stations are explained by diagrams and videos. The techniques of T staging, and methods of assessment for local invasion are discussed. The use of EUS for M staging by screening of liver and left adrenal gland is emphasized.
