Description
Which patients with a pancreatic cystic lesions (PCLs) should undergo EUS evaluation? Recent advances in EUS-guided tissue acquisition, imaging, and molecular biomarkers have resulted in improved diagnostic accuracy of pancreatic cystic lesions (PCLs). Currently, clinical assessment, cross-sectional imaging and EUS with fluid analysis (if appropriate) belong to the standard care in patients with PCLs. This session will discuss standard approaches to diagnostic work-up, including cross-sectional imaging assessment, the use of EUS, FNA and needle-based confocal laser endomicroscopy (nCLE) with PCL classification.
Learning Objectives
  • Review indications for performing EUS-FNA in pancreatic cystic lesions (PCL)
  • Discuss role and impact of EUS-guided through the needle biopsy forceps in the diagnosis of PCL
  • Identify technical pointers to improve safety and success
