This video discusses the use of endoscopic ultrasound to obtain fine needle aspiration samples for cytology and trucut biopsy for histology. Indications, contraindications and complications of each procedure are reviewed, as well as the methods employed in handling each specimen type.

• Determine when to perform EUS-guided fine needle aspiration.
• Determine when to perform EUS-guided trucut biopsy.
• Identify the proper methods of specimen handling for EUS-guided fine needle aspiration and trucut biopsy.
