Description
Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) are crucial members of the gastroenterology clinical team in delivering high quality and efficient care to patients. This new ASGE course examines GI-specific essentials for APPs -new or returning to GI - and provide best practices to assist in navigating their role in all GI practice settings. Through a mix of didactic lectures and interactive sessions with case studies, taught by leading experts in the field, this course will serve as a critical resource for units that want to create an effective APP/physician collaboration and successfully and smoothly integrate new APPs into their GI team.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this educational activity, participants will be able to:
Recognize key aspects of scope of practice in GI consultation as reflected in proper documentation
Summarize various endoscopic procedures and how best to prepare the patient for endoscopy.
Identify common ncodes used for GI consult endoscopic procedures.
Discuss the rold of the GI APP by chronicling both inpatient and outpatient workdays.
Outline tools and resources needed to develop an onboarding program for the GI APP.
List key elmenets of a high-performing, quality GI team.
