Description

This CME activity consists of the ASGE video, Confocal Laser Endomicroscopy in Gastroenterology: Where Are We Now and Where Should We Go? (OLV008), followed by a post-assessment and evaluation.

Since 2003, this flexible confocal laser endomicroscope has been used in examination of human colon diseases and upper gastrointestinal diseases in vivo. Now we can get the endoscopic diagnosis which is virtually consist with the histologic diagnosis. It would have been the ultimate objective of endoscopists from the very early phases of development of endoscopy. This video deals with the past, present, and future of confocal laser endomicroscopy in gastrointestinal field.

Target Audience

Practicing gastroenterologists, gastroenterology fellows and trainees, medical residents, physician assistants and nurses.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this educational activity, participants will be able to:

• Understand confocal laser endomicroscopy (CLE)
• Understand the current clinical usage of CLE
• Understand the CLE findings of neoplasia in gastrointestinal tract
• Use of needle-type CLE in pancreatic cysts

To complete this activity,

Multiple attempts are given and each question must be answered correctly before proceeding to the next question. Persons scoring 100% pass the test and can print a CME certificate.
