Description
Endoscopic techniques in the pancreaticobiliary field continue to grow at a remarkable rate. Various pancreaticobiliary diseases which were previously difficult to diagnose, have become more accurate with the progress of ERCP and EUS.  New developments of cholangioscopy and pancreatoscopy have bought further possibilities with high diagnostic ability. Therapeutic indications and new therapies that have never existed are being developed and implemented. In particular, the advancement of interventional EUS has revolutionized endoscopic treatment for pancreaticobiliary disease. Advanced endoscopic techniques comprise an exciting and ever-evolving field in medicine, enabling minimally invasive interventions for the management of numerous benign and malignant diseases of the GI tract that historically were possible only with major surgery.  Participating in this program will provide you, the participant, a better appreciation for a number of novel imaging and therapeutic techniques that continue to be developed. Learn from experts who have enabled these technologies by incorporating greater clinical utility, including direct pancreaticobiliary imaging with cholangioscopy and pancreatoscopy, and probe-based technologies such as confocal laser endomicroscopy.

Live Cases will include the following:
  • EUS-FNB
  • EUS of Pancreatic cyst (ablation/endomiroscopy)
  • EUS Biliary drainage
  • EUS-GJ
  • EDGE
  • ERCP/Cholangioscopy
  • ERCP-CP Management

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this educational activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Recognize endoscopic techniques used as they pertain to the pancreaticobiliary tree. (knowledge)
  2. Review disease state and condition presented and how assessed with EUS to diagnose, treat and provide follow-up care accordingly. (comprehension)
  3. Understand the impact that EUS-ERCP has made for accurate gastrointestinal illness diagnosis, avoidance of other more invasive diagnostic/therapeutic procedures, implementation of new medical treatments and reduction in gastrointestinal surgery. (knowledge)

Optimal Viewing Experience on GI Leap
Although all browsers continually roll out new versions and updates, we currently recommend using Chrome for the best functionality when accessing GI Leap. Please note that Internet Explorer is not a supported browser. Follow these tips for better streaming and viewing of ASGE videos:

  1. Close other applications and browser tabs. This decreases the load on memory so your computer or other device can focus on streaming.
  2. Use a 5 GHz frequency if your router supports it. The common 2.4 GHz frequency is used by household appliances, so is more crowded. Avoiding it is like getting into the carpool lane on a freeway: smoother sailing.
  3. Use Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi if possible but GI LEAP is built with Wi-Fi in mind.
  4. Monitor your internet connection. If your ISP has promised you 5MBps and you are getting only 1MBps, it's time for a phone call to your internet provider to sort that out.
