Topics that will be covered in this video include preparation for polypectomy; visual analysis of polyps prior to resection; safety issues in polypectomy; techniques in polypectomy, including forceps and snaring techniques; high-risk polypectomy, such as large pedunculated polyps and large sessile polyps; the use of ancillary techniques, including detachable snares, clipping, and tattooing; polyp retrieval; the principle complications of polypectomy and their management; and postpolypectomy surveillance. Upon completion of this educational activity, participants will be able to: • Identify indications and techniques for polypectomy using cold forceps, hot forceps, cold snaring and hot snaring, piecemeal technique, submucosal injection, tattooing, argon plasma coagulation, clipping, and detachable snares, and polyp retrieval tools. • Recognize the principal complications of polypectomy. • Identify visual cues to polyp histology. • Formulate recommendations for follow-up of colorectal polyps after polypectomy.
