Interventional inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) or therapeutic endoscopy has an expanding role in the treatment of disease and surgical complications. Endoscopic therapy offers more effective than medical treatment and less invasive than surgery, for the management of IBD-associated structural complications. Endoscopic therapy has been explored and used in the management of strictures, fistulas/abscesses, colitis-associated neoplasia, and post-surgical acute or chronic leaks, and obstructions. The endoscopic therapeutic modalities include balloon dilation, stricturotomy, stricturoplasty, stent placement, fistulotomy, fistula injection and clipping, sinusotomy, endoscopic mucosal resection, and endoscopic submucosal dissection. With a better understanding of the disease course of IBD, improved long-term impact of medical therapy, and advances in endoscopic technology, we can foresee interventional IBD will become an integrated part of the multidisciplinary approach for patients with complex IBD. In 2018, ASGE SIG in Interventional IBD was established to meet the need. This program has been assembled to help ASGE members and gastroenterologists globally on better understanding the importance of IBD management and the use of therapeutic endoscopy.

• Recognize the current status of biological therapy in IBD (knowledge)
• Compare and contrast principles, indications, techniques, and outcomes of endoscopic therapy for strictures, fistulae, and surgical leaks in IBD (analysis)
• Summarize principles, diagnosis, and management of colitis-associated neoplasia in IBD (synthesis)
• Select rescue strategies for endoscopy-associated complications (evaluation)

Although all browsers continually roll out new versions and updates, we currently recommend using Chrome for the best functionality when accessing GI Leap. Please note that Internet Explorer is not a supported browser. Follow these tips for better streaming and viewing of ASGE videos:

1. Close other applications and browser tabs. This decreases the load on memory so your computer or other device can focus on streaming.
2. Use a 5 GHz frequency if your router supports it. The common 2.4 GHz frequency is used by household appliances, so is more crowded. Avoiding it is like getting into the carpool lane on a freeway: smoother sailing.
3. Use Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi if possible but GI LEAP is built with Wi-Fi in mind. 
4. Monitor your internet connection. If your ISP has promised you 5MBps and you are getting only 1MBps, it's time for a phone call to your internet provider to sort that out.
