ASGE Advanced Endoscopic Lesion Resection Course (On-Demand) | November 2022
Release Date: Novemer 2022
Viewing Time:
14 hours
Description
Recent advances in endoscopic imaging and resection allow clinicians to identify and determine lesions that are amenable to curative resection and apply techniques that ensure their complete and safe resection. Many clinicians finished training in an era in which lesions were described as either pedunculated or sessile and treated with a hot snare, without the benefit of image enhancement, resection, hemostatic, and closure techniques that developed in the last decade. Current therapeutic endoscopists should be able to make an optical diagnosis of the lesion and apply the most appropriate technique to remove the lesion completely and safely. This ASGE course will review and provide simulation based hands-on training for those individuals wanting to further perfect their endoscopic skill or for the senior GI Fellow who seeks training from the leaders in the field.

This is a recording of a live event that took place November 12-13, 2022.
Learning Objectives
  • Recognize the impact of imaging features, location, and previous resection attempts on successful endoscopic resection (Knowledge)
  • Select polyps not amenable to standard EMR resection techniques (comprehension)
  • Identify risks and benefits of techniques currently available for endoscopic resection – underwater, full thickness resection, and avulsive/ablative therapies (analysis)
  • Compare and contrast other techniques to standard EMR and ESD (evaluation)
  • Analyze device techniques commonly used for hemostasis and management of defects created during endoscopic resection (analysis)
  • Recognize when surgery is the appropriate option (comprehension)
  • Assess lesions after resection attempts (evaluation)

Optimal Viewing Experience in GI Leap
Although all browsers continually roll out new versions and updates, we currently recommend using Chrome for the best functionality when accessing GI Leap. Please note that Internet Explorer is not a supported browser. Follow these tips for better streaming and viewing of ASGE videos:

  1. Close other applications and browser tabs. This decreases the load on memory so your computer or other device can focus on streaming.
  2. Use a 5 GHz frequency if your router supports it. The common 2.4 GHz frequency is used by household appliances, so is more crowded. Avoiding it is like getting into the carpool lane on a freeway: smoother sailing.
  3. Use Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi if possible but GI LEAP is built with Wi-Fi in mind.
  4. Monitor your internet connection. If your ISP has promised you 5MBps and you are getting only 1MBps, it's time for a phone call to your internet provider to sort that out.
