ASGE Guideline on the Management of Cholangitis | September 2021
Release Date: August 2021
Viewing Time:
1.5 hours
Description

ASGE evidence-based guidelines are based on a comprehensive systematic review and rigorous methodology. Guideline panels consist of content experts, stakeholders from other specialties, patient representatives, and members of the ASGE Standards of Practice (SOP) Committee. Each recommendation is based on consideration of the best medical literature, the balance between risks and benefits, cost-effectiveness, patients’ values, and equity.

The ASGE guideline on the management of cholangitis provides an evidence-based approach for management of cholangitis. Recommendations address the modality of drainage (endoscopic vs percutaneous), timing of intervention (<48 hours vs >48 hours), and extent of initial intervention (comprehensive therapy vs decompression alone). During this webinar, we will review the recommendations and discuss how to implement them into your practice.

Optimal Viewing Experience on GI Leap
Although all browsers continually roll out new versions and updates, we currently recommend using Chrome for the best functionality when accessing GI Leap. Please note that Internet Explorer is not a supported browser. Follow these tips for better streaming and viewing of ASGE videos:

  1. Close other applications and browser tabs. This decreases the load on memory so your computer or other device can focus on streaming.
  2. Use a 5 GHz frequency if your router supports it. The common 2.4 GHz frequency is used by household appliances, so is more crowded. Avoiding it is like getting into the carpool lane on a freeway: smoother sailing.
  3. Use Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi if possible but GI LEAP is built with Wi-Fi in mind.
  4. Monitor your internet connection. If your ISP has promised you 5MBps and you are getting only 1MBps, it's time for a phone call to your internet provider to sort that out.
