Learning Objectives

Physicians:

  • Refine your skills in cannulation, sphincterotomy, and stent placement through hands-on simulation and case-based discussions
  • Identify and manage adverse events such as perforation, bleeding, and infection during ERCP, using best practices and innovative tools
  • Develop strategies for managing challenging biliary and pancreatic cases, including malignant distal and hilar strictures, as well as complex stone extractions
  • Apply the latest ASGE guidelines and emerging research to your practice to improve patient care and safety

Advanced Practice Provider (APPs):

  • Describe the APP role across the ERCP care continuum, from pre-procedure evaluation and consent through post-procedure follow-up and recall
  • Explain expected benefits, risks, and complication profiles of pancreatic ERCP and integrate this into patient counseling and shared decision-making
  • Recognize expected diagnostic yield, therapeutic capabilities, and complication risks of cholangioscopy/pancreatoscopy and integrate these into patient expectations and follow-up planning
  • Identify common challenges and opportunities for APPs in ERCP programs and propose at least one actionable change to improve practice at their home institution

Nurses and GI Techs:

  • Create an efficient and sterile ERCP environment by mastering room prep, equipment handling, and duodenoscope reprocessing techniques
  • Provide critical support during ERCP procedures by anticipating needs, assisting with instruments, and managing patient positioning
